Center Stage:

The Bastich
Bastich is every loser, every nerd, and every four-eyed freak you ever kicked in the shin in high school, if you did that kind of thing, which we all know you never would. He's a semi-employed 20-ish techno-geek with mutating hair and an irresistible attraction to obscure pop culture. Along with his roommates Hacker-Lad and Faith, he dodges his way through the pits and dunes of Nerd Hell.

Faith
Faith is a roommate and trusted friend of the Bastich. She's a fellow geek, albeit not quite as unmoored from reality as the guys (for as much as that honor is worth). Whenever she's not doing whatever she does to earn a living, she can be found [LARPing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_action_role-playing_game) or re-watching the full run of [Star Trek](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek) AGAIN so she can win a flamewar in the [Memory Alpha](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/) edit log.
Faith's Appearances

Hacker-Lad
Decisively the most reclusive of the gang, "HL" is far more comfortable behind a terminal, recompiling his [Linux](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux) kernel for the n-thousandth time instead of trying to make sense of the baffling world outside his window. That said, Bastich and Faith occasionally manage to coax him outside for walkies.

Accomplices:

Mtn. Dewd©
Based on a "real-life" freak from [CSU Chico](https://www.csuchico.edu/) with a liking for a particular nuclear-green soft drink, Mtn. Dewd found a place in The Bastich during the ["Summer Vacation"](/bastich/strips/ba19970910/) series. This Guru of Whup-Ass usually isn't found too far away from Bapper. Together they plunder and pillage the land of Bastich and their own spin-off, [icon-based](/bastich/strips/ib19980426/).

Bapper
Also based on a "real-life" freak from [CSU Chico](https://www.csuchico.edu/), the Bapper's first comic-strip appearance was in his very own [one-shot](/bastich/strips/bp19951020/), which was given to him on his birthday from some cheapskate friend of his. After that, he occasionally found his way into the panels of "The Bastich" until finally becoming a semi-regular along with the other Wonder Twin, Mtn. Dewd, during the ["Summer Vacation"](/bastich/strips/ba19970910/) series. It's a little-known fact that The Bapper was booted out of the cartoon universe for being too stylized...

El-Krahn
As the self-styled "future guy," El-Krahn was sent back in time from the 23rd century by the mighty Co-Ax to observe the ways of his forebears and to prevent Bastich from taking over the planet. So far, he's been unsuccessful, but he seems mostly okay with that.
El-Krahn's Appearances

Golabutron
The namesake for this website is on leave from interstellar conquest to take a little "me" time and reconnect to his inner jerk-face.

Bastich-Man
This Mysterious Masked Marauder stalks the city streets in search of evildoers to thwart. Unless he's on a quest for ultra-rare pogs. Most of the time it's pogs.
