PANEL 1 (Four young men stand in line in front of a large sign that reads "DEPARTMENT OF ROMANTIC AFFAIRS". The first man is a "preppie" stereotype with black hair and a letterman jacket. The second man is a "jock" stereotype with bulging muscles, a crew cut and a tank top that reads "BEER: IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER". The third man is a "greaser" stereotype with sunglasses and a leather jacket who is combing his slick blonde hair. The fourth man is a "nice guy" stereotype with a sweater and hands in his pocket who is dejectedly facing away from the end of the line. Behind him is a smaller sign that reads "NICE GUYS TO THE REAR PLEASE".)
Commentary
This drawing ran in the Orion alongside an essay by another student entitled "When it comes to chicks, nice guys finish last". I don't remember if I even bothered to read it when I was offered the assignment, but I was more than happy for another opportunity to have my art published. And stereotypes are fun to draw, right?
